1-MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Johnson Senate Resolution 73 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE PRESBYTERIAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BLUE BLAZE DRILL TEAM AND COACH ARRIELLE BRANNING FOR THEIR NATIONAL PLACEMENT IN THE 2025 UDA NATIONAL DANCE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR THEIR STATE TOURNAMENT ACHIEVEMENTS. WHEREAS, we join the students, faculty, coaches and parents of the Presbyterian Christian School Blue Blaze Drill Team for their success at the 2025 National Dance Team Championship held in Orlando, Florida; and WHEREAS, high school and college dance teams from across the country compete annually for a championship title and bids to their favorite end-of-season championship events. This 2025 event marked the conclusion of the dance season for four decades and allowed teams from all over the country to celebrate and compete at the most magical place on earth (Walt Disney World). At stake for the dancers participating in the 2025 UDA National Dance Team Championships are bids to The Dance Worlds and At-Large bids to The Dance Worlds and The Dance Summit; and WHEREAS, at the 2025 UDA National Dance Team Championship, the PCS Blue Blaze Drill Team, coached by Arrielle Dale Branning, earned 2nd place in JV DII Game Day; and WHEREAS, in 2025, the Blue Blaze Drill Team also achieved the following: UDA Regionals; 1st Place in JV Game Day; 1st Place in JV Jazz; MAIS Spirit Competition; 1st Place Small Varsity Jazz; and 1st Place Small Varsity Game Day; and WHEREAS, members of the team are: Anna Marie Burt, Addie Dayne Gregg, Mary Catherine King, Kate McClain, Piper McClain, Mayme Mikovich, Harper Ann Miller, Emily Mitchell, Liza Parish, Rivers Penn, and Lanier Tatum; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize the Presbyterian Christian School Blue Blaze Drill Team and Coach Arrielle Branning for their National Placement in the 2025 UDA National Dance Team Championship and for their State Tournament achievements, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Arrielle Branning for the team, forwarded to PCS Head of School and the PSC Board of Trustees and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
