MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) England Senate Resolution 88 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DANIEL CALCOTE FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" REPRESENTING THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. WHEREAS, Daniel Calcote, a resident of Perkinston, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and WHEREAS, Daniel Calcote, a Visual Arts Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for fourteen years; and WHEREAS, Daniel Calcote received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in ceramics from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in ceramics from East Carolina University; and WHEREAS, Daniel Calcote has worked as a Studio Assistant at Mississippi State University, a Graduate Assistant at East Carolina University, a Recruiter for the Mississippi School of the Arts and for the Calcote Dairy Farm prior to his career as an Instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize an outstanding teacher, who has dedicated his career to teaching individuals of this state: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Daniel Calcote for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" representing the Perkinston Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT this resolution be presented to Daniel Calcote, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
