1315 AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND H UMAN 2

1517 THE PROJECT CAREGIVER ALTERNATIVES TO RUNNING ON EMPTY (PROJECT 4

1719 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 6
1820 SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 7
19-Health and Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services, the sum of two million 8
20-seventy-three thousand eight hundred forty-seven dollars ($2,073,847) in recurring funds for the 9
21-2025-2026 fiscal year and the sum of two million seventy-three thousand eight hundred 10
22-forty-seven dollars ($2,073,847) in recurring funds for the 2026-2027 fiscal year to expand the 11
23-Project Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty Program (Project C.A.R.E.), which provides 12
24-support to family caregivers of people living with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementias. 13

22+thousand five hundred fourteen dollars ($1,040,514) in recurring funds for the 2025-2026 fiscal 9
23+year and the sum of one million forty thousand five hundred fourteen dollars ($1,040,514) in 10
24+recurring funds for the 2026-2027 fiscal year to expand the Project Caregiver Alternatives to 11
25+Running on Empty Program (Project C.A.R.E.), which provides support to family caregivers of 12

2527 SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 14
