1516 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
1617 SECTION 1. Section 3.3(a) of the Charter of the Town of Madison, being Chapter 5
1718 289 of the 1973 Session Laws, as amended by S.L. 2004-54, reads as rewritten: 6
18-"(a) The members of the Board of Aldermen shall serve for staggered terms of four years, 7
19-and the Mayor shall serve for a term of two years, beginning the day and hour of the 8

26-SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law and applies to elections held 15

33+elected for a term of two four years and the six candidates for Alderman who receive the largest 21
34+number of votes cast for Alderman shall be declared elected for terms of two four years." 22
