17 | 17 | | The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5 |

18 | 18 | | SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 6 |
---|
19 | 19 | | Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and 7 |
---|
20 | 20 | | Substance Use Services, the sum of one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) in 8 |
---|
21 | 21 | | recurring funds for each year of the 2025-2027 fiscal biennium to be allocated as a grant to the 9 |
---|
22 | 22 | | North Carolina Association of People Supporting Employment First (NC APSE) to develop and 10 |
---|
23 | 23 | | implement training programs for the Department, including online training modules, on the 11 |
---|
24 | 24 | | provision of evidence-based supported employment services for individuals in targeted 12 |
---|
25 | 25 | | populations, in order to assist these individuals with preparation for, identification of, and 13 |
---|
26 | 26 | | maintenance of integrated, paid, competitive employment. The Department shall make these 14 |
---|
27 | 27 | | training programs available throughout the State to (i) employers that have hired or are willing 15 |
---|
28 | 28 | | to hire individuals in targeted populations, (ii) service providers of local management 16 |
---|
29 | 29 | | entities/managed care organizations, and (iii) any other entity the Department determines will 17 |
---|
30 | 30 | | benefit from receiving this training in order to achieve improved employment outcomes for 18 |
---|
31 | 31 | | individuals in targeted populations. As used in this section, "individuals in targeted populations" 19 |
---|
32 | 32 | | means individuals with serious mental illness who are not in or at risk of entry into an adult care 20 |
---|
33 | 33 | | home and individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or both. 21 |
---|
34 | 34 | | SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 22 |
