A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO ENSURE THAT CERTAIN PROVIDERS OF TELEHEALTH SERVICES ARE 2
ELIGIBLE TO ENROLL AS MEDICAID PROVIDERS. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. The Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health 5
Benefits, shall ensure that a health care provider duly licensed by the State that provides health 6
care services exclusively through telemedicine services shall not be required to maintain a 7
physical presence in the State to be considered an eligible provider for enrollment as a Medicaid 8
provider. 9
SECTION 2. The Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health 10
Benefits, shall ensure that a medical provider group with health care providers duly licensed by 11
the State which exclusively offers telemedicine services shall not be required to have an in-State 12
service address to be eligible to enroll as a Medicaid provider group. 13
SECTION 3. This act is effective when it becomes law. 14
