18 | 18 | | Whereas, investing in the health, education, and well-being of our children is 6 |

19 | 19 | | paramount to ensuring a prosperous and sustainable society; and 7 |

20 | 20 | | Whereas, recognizing the importance of nurturing and protecting our children 8 |

21 | 21 | | encourages communities, families, and organizations to collaborate in creating safe and 9 |

22 | 22 | | supportive environments; and 10 |

23 | 23 | | Whereas, celebrating Children's Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the 11 |

28 | 28 | | Whereas, the State of North Carolina is committed to promoting policies and 16 |

30 | 30 | | The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 18 |

31 | 31 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 103 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new 19 |

32 | 32 | | section to read: 20 |

33 | 33 | | "ยง 103-19. Day of the child. 21 |

34 | 34 | | The first Sunday of June of each year is designated as Children's Day in North Carolina." 22 |
