18	17		The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
19	18		SECTION 1.(a) G.S. 115C-47 is amended by adding a new subdivision to read: 6
20	19		"(70) To Print Safety Numbers on Student Identification Cards (Student IDs). – A 7
21	20		local board of education shall ensure that any new student ID issued to a 8
22	21		student in grade six through 12 shall have printed in a conspicuous location 9
23	22		on the ID the following text and phone numbers: 10
24	23		a. Call or text the Lifeline at 988, available 24 hours a day. 11
25	24		b. The Crisis Text line can be accessed by texting HOME to 741741. 12
26	25		c. The telephone number for the NC Statewide Warmline is 13
27	26		1-855-733-7762. 14
28	27		The local board of education shall verify that the numbers being printed on 15
29	28		student IDs are accurate and current on an annual basis and shall use updated 16
30	29		contact information for the resources listed in this section if found. Nothing in 17
31	30		this subdivision shall be construed to require the issuance of student IDs." 18
32	31		SECTION 1.(b) G.S. 115C-150.12C is amended by adding a new subdivision to 19
33	32		read: 20
34	33		"(37) To print safety numbers on student identification cards (student IDs). – The 21
35	34		board of trustees shall ensure that any new student ID issued to a student in 22
36	35		grade six through 12 shall have printed in a conspicuous location on the ID 23
37	36		the following text and phone numbers: 24
38	37		a. Call or text the Lifeline at 988, available 24 hours a day. 25
39	38		b. The Crisis Text line can be accessed by texting HOME to 741741. 26
40	39		c. The telephone number for the NC Statewide Warmline is 27

87		-	To Print Safety Numbers on Student Identification Cards (Student IDs). – Nonpublic schools 40
88		-	operating pursuant to Part 1 or Part 2 of this Article are encouraged to include on any student ID 41
89		-	issued to a student in grade six through 12 in a conspicuous location on the ID the following text 42
90		-	and phone numbers: 43
91		-	(1) Call or text the Lifeline at 988, available 24 hours a day. 44
