1414 AN ACT TO MODIFY THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF LEGISLATORS DOCUMENTS. 2
1515 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 3
1616 SECTION 1. G.S. 120-135 reads as rewritten: 4
1717 "ยง 120-135. Legislator is custodian of documents. 5
1818 (a) Each legislator, while in office and after leaving office, shall be the custodian of all 6
1919 documents, supporting documents, drafting requests, and information requests made or received 7
2020 by that legislator while a legislator. 8
2121 (b) A legislator, while in office or after leaving office, shall not be required to reveal or 9
2222 to consent to reveal any document, supporting document, drafting request, or information request 10
2323 made or received by that legislator while a legislator.legislator, except for with respect to the 11

2525 (1) Federal grand jury subpoenas. 13
2626 (2) Requests for information from investigative authorities. 14
2727 (3) Correspondence regarding bills appropriating State funds to businesses and 15
