| 17 | 18 | | The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 6 |

| 18 | 19 | | SECTION 1. The provisions of Chapter 20 of the General Statutes relating to the 7 |

| 19 | 20 | | use of the highways of the State and the operation of motor vehicles are applicable to the streets, 8 |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | roadways, and alleys on the properties owned by or under the control of the Park South Station 9 |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Master Association, Inc., or the members of the Park South Station Master Association, Inc. For 10 |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the purposes of this act, streets, roadways, and alleys in the Park South Station Community shall 11 |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | have the same meanings as highways and public vehicular areas pursuant to G.S. 20-4.01. A 12 |

| 24 | 25 | | violation of any of those laws is punishable as prescribed by those laws. 13 |

| 25 | 26 | | SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a law enforcement officer 14 |

| 26 | 27 | | of a law enforcement agency that has contracted with the Park South Station Master Association, 15 |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Inc., may enforce this act. 16 |

| 28 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This act shall not be construed as in any way interfering with the 17 |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | ownership and control of the streets, roadways, and alleys of the Park South Station Master 18 |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Association, Inc., or its members as is now vested by law in that association or its members. The 19 |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | speed limits within the Park South Station Community shall be the same as those in effect at the 20 |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | time of ratification of this act. Any proposed change in the speed limit shall be submitted to and 21 |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | approved by the Charlotte City Council. Pursuant to G.S. 20-141, the Charlotte City Council may 22 |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | authorize by ordinance higher or lower speeds. 23 |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | SECTION 4. This act applies only to the City of Charlotte. 24 |

| 36 | 37 | | SECTION 5. This act is effective when it becomes law. 25 |
