1718 SECTION 1. G.S. 50-13.4(f) reads as rewritten: 6

2021 (9) An order for the periodic payments of child support or a child support 9
2122 judgment that provides for periodic payments is enforceable by proceedings 10
2223 for civil contempt, and disobedience may be punished by proceedings for 11
2324 criminal contempt, as provided in Chapter 5A of the General Statutes. 12
2425 Notwithstanding the provisions of G.S. 1-294, an order for the payment of 13
2526 child support which has been appealed to the appellate division is enforceable 14
2627 in the trial court by proceedings for civil contempt during the pendency of the 15
2728 appeal. Upon motion of an aggrieved party, the court of the appellate division 16
2829 in which the appeal is pending may stay any order for civil contempt entered 17
2930 for child support until the appeal is decided, if justice requires. 18
3031 As a special condition of a contempt order, the court may direct the person 19
3132 into job search or dually specific education training. If the court selects this 20
3233 option, the court shall review the person's progress in 30-day intervals, at a 21
3334 minimum, unless the person is enrolled and actively participating in 22
3435 work-specific training. The person's enrollment in work-specific training shall 23
3536 not exceed six months and the person shall satisfy all the following 24
3637 requirements: 25
3738 a. Pay a minimum of fifty dollars ($50.00) monthly of child support. 26
3839 b. Notify the court upon completion from work-specific training. 27
3940 c. Notify the court within 14 days of failing to satisfy the attendance 28
4041 requirements of work-specific training. 29
