9	9	A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 62.1-04-04 of the North Dakota Century Code,
10	10	relating to producing a license to carry a concealed firearm upon request from a law
11	11	enforcement officer; and to provide a penalty.
12	12	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
13	13	SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 62.1-04-04 of the North Dakota Century Code is
14	14	amended and reenacted as follows:
15	15	62.1-04-04. Producing license upon request - Penalty.
16	16	1.EveryAn individual while carrying a concealed firearm or dangerous weapon, for which
17	17	a license to carry concealed is required, shall have on one'sthe individual's person the
18	18	license issued by this or another state or a digital image of one'sthe individual's
19	19	concealed firearm or dangerous weapon license issued by this state on an electronic
20	20	device and shall give itthe license or digital image of the license to any activea law
21	21	enforcement officer for an inspection upon request by the officer. The failure of anyan
22	22	individual to give the license or digital image of the license to the officer is prima facie
23	23	evidence the individual is illegally carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon concealed.
24	24	2.EveryAn individual carrying a concealed firearm under the authority granted in
25	25	subsection 2 of section 62.1-04-02 shall inform a law enforcement officer of the
26	26	individual's possession of a concealed weapon upon the initiation of a traffic stop or
27	27	any other in-person contact initiated by a law enforcementfirearm if the officer inquires
28	28	about the individual possessing a concealed firearm.
29	29	3.EveryAn individual carrying a concealed firearm under the authority granted in
30	30	subsection 2 of section 62.1-04-02 shall have on one'sthe individual's person a valid
31	31	driver's license or nondriver identification card issued by the department of

63	63	4.An individual who violates this section is guilty of a noncriminal offense punishable by
64	64	a fee of twenty dollars.
