AN ACT to provide for a legislative management study relating to providing uniform group insurance 
program health insurance benefits coverage for retired peace officers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
SECTION 1. LEGISLATIVE MANAGEMENT STUDY - PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT 
SYSTEM UNIFORM GROUP INSURANCE PROGRAM HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS FOR 
RETIRED PEACE OFFICERS. During the 2025-26 interim, the legislative management shall consider 
studying the impact of providing uniform group insurance program health insurance benefits for retired 
peace officers. The study must include a thorough review of benefits provided for peace officers and 
consideration of health insurance benefit options, premium costs, eligibility requirements for retirement, 
years of service limitations, eligibility for Medicare, potential costs to the state and political subdivisions, 
the effect of providing benefits on recruitment and retention, any impact on the state's financial reporting 
of postemployment benefit-related unfunded liability, and establishing a retired peace officer health 
insurance pool. The legislative management shall reports its findings and recommendations, together 
with any legislation necessary to implement the recommendations, to the seventieth legislative
