8	8	A concurrent resolution directing the Legislative Management to consider studying legislative
9	9	responsibility to carefully review and consider existing law when developing proposals to create
10	10	new law.
11	11	WHEREAS, it is a legislative responsibility to carefully review and consider existing laws
12	12	and regulations when developing proposals to create new laws; and
13	13	WHEREAS, it is a legislative responsibility to ensure a proposal to enact a new law is not
14	14	duplicating already existing law; and
15	15	WHEREAS, the careful review and consideration of existing law includes a review of
16	16	existing federal and state regulations and consideration of how new law would affect those
17	17	regulations and regulated programs;
18	18	NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
19	19	NORTH DAKOTA, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN:
20	20	That the Legislative Management consider studying legislative responsibility to carefully
21	21	review and consider existing law when developing proposals to create new law; and
22	22	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Legislative Management report its findings and
23	23	recommendations, together with any legislation required to implement the recommendations, to
24	24	the Seventieth Legislative Assembly.
