12+A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 1 of section 15-39.1-05.1 of the North
13+Dakota Century Code, relating to the composition of the teachers' fund for retirement board.
14+BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
15+SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Subsection 1 of section 15-39.1-05.1 of the North Dakota
16+Century Code is amended and reenacted as follows:
17+1.The authority to set policy for the fund rests in a board of trustees composed as
18+follows:
19+a.The governor shall appoint, from a list of three nominees submitted to the
20+governor by North Dakota united, two board members who are actively employed
21+as elementary or secondary teachers in full-time positions not classified as
22+school administrators. A board member appointed under this subdivision who
23+terminates employment may not continue to serve as a member of the board.
24+b.The governor shall appoint, from a list of three nominees submitted to the
25+governor by the North Dakota council of educational leaders, one board member
26+who is actively employed as a full-time school administrator. A board member
27+appointed under this subdivision who terminates employment may not continue
28+to serve as a member of the board.
29+c.The governor shall appoint, from a list of three nominees submitted to the
30+governor by the North Dakota retired teachers association, two board members
31+who are the retired members of the fund.
