8+A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 2 of section 18-04-05 and section
9+18-05.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the firefighters death benefits fund.
10+BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
11+SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Subsection 2 of section 18-04-05 of the North Dakota Century
12+Code is amended and reenacted as follows:
13+2.The insurance commissioner shall transfer an amount of up to fifty thousandone
14+hundred twenty - five thousand dollars per biennium, as may be necessary, to the
15+firefighters death benefit fund for distribution under chapter 18-05.1.
16+SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 18-05.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code is
17+amended and reenacted as follows:
18+18-05.1-02. Payments from firefighters death benefit fund.
19+The insurance commissioner shall pay ten thousandtwenty - five thousand dollars to a
20+deceased firefighter's survivor upon receipt of a request for payment and evidence of a line of
21+duty death from the fire chief or the fire chief's designee of a city fire department, rural fire
22+department, or rural fire protection district.

8-BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
