8+A BILL for an Act to provide for a legislative management study relating to the creation of a farm
9+safety insurance discount program.
10+BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
11+SECTION 1. LEGISLATIVE MANAGEMENT STUDY - AGRICULTURE SAFETY COURSE
12+TO REDUCE INSURANCE PREMIUMS. During the 2025-26 interim, the legislative
13+management shall study the feasibility and desirability of creating a program that would allow a
14+farmer or rancher to complete a safety course to receive a discount on insurance relating to the
15+individual's farming or ranching operation. The study must include the development of a
16+proposed safety course, the feasible amount of an insurance premium discount, and eligibility
17+requirements for applicants seeking to participate in the discount program. The study must
18+include input from the insurance commissioner, agriculture commissioner, the North Dakota
19+state university extension service, and farm, livestock, and agricultural insurance agencies
20+operating in the state. The legislative management shall report its findings and
21+recommendations, together with any legislation required to implement the recommendations, to
22+the seventieth legislative assembly.
