245+amended and reenacted as follows:
116246 47-20.2-03. North Dakota coordinate system defined.
117-The plane coordinate values for a point on the earth's surface, used in expressing the geographic
118-position or location of such point in the appropriate zone of this system, shall consist of two distances,
119-expressed in United States survey feet [meters] and decimals of a foot [meter] when using the North
120-Dakota coordinate system of 1927. One of these distances, to be known as the X-coordinate, shall give
121-the position in an east-west direction; the other, to be known as the Y-coordinate, shall give the position
122-in a north-south direction. These coordinates shall be made to depend upon and conform to plane
123-rectangular coordinate values for the monumented points of the North American horizontal geodetic
124-control network as published by the national ocean survey/national geodetic survey, or its successors,
125-and the plane coordinates which have been computed on the systems defined in this chapter. Any such S. B. NO. 2260 - PAGE 4
126-station may be used for establishing a survey connection to either North Dakota coordinate system. For
127-the purposes of converting coordinates of the North Dakota coordinate systemsystems of 1983 and

261+SECTION 4. AMENDMENT. Section 47-20.2-05 of the North Dakota Century Code is
262+amended and reenacted as follows:
132263 47-20.2-05. North Dakota coordinate system origins defined.
133-1.For the purposes of more precisely defining the North Dakota coordinate system of 1927, the
134-following definitions by the United States coast and geodetic survey are adopted:
135-a.The North Dakota coordinate system of 1927, north zone, is a Lambert conformal conic
136-projection of the Clarke spheroid of 1866, having standard parallels at north latitudes,
137-forty-seven degrees twenty-six minutes and forty-eight degrees forty-four minutes along
138-which parallels the scale shall be exact. The origin of coordinates is at the intersection of
139-the meridian one hundred degrees thirty minutes west of Greenwich and the parallel
140-forty-seven degrees zero minutes north latitude. This origin is given the coordinates: x =
141-2,000,000 feet [609.6 kilometers], and y = 0 feet [0 kilometers].
142-b.The North Dakota coordinate system of 1927, south zone, is a Lambert conformal conic
143-projection of the Clarke spheroid of 1866, having standard parallels at north latitudes
144-forty-six degrees eleven minutes and forty-seven degrees twenty-nine minutes along
145-which parallels the scale shall be exact. The origin of coordinates is at the intersection of
146-the meridian one hundred degrees thirty minutes west of Greenwich and the parallel
147-forty-five degrees forty minutes north latitude. This origin is given the coordinates: x =
148-2,000,000 feet [609.6 kilometers], and y = 0 feet [0 kilometers].
149-2.For the purposes of more precisely defining the North Dakota coordinate system of 1983, the
150-following definition by the national ocean survey/national geodetic survey is adopted:
151-a.The North Dakota coordinate system of 1983, north zone, is a Lambert conformal conic
152-projection of the North American datum of 1983, having standard parallels at north
153-latitude of forty-seven degrees twenty-six minutes and forty-eight degrees forty-four
154-minutes along which parallels the scale shall be exact. The origin of coordinates is at the
155-intersection of the meridian one hundred degrees thirty minutes west of Greenwich and
156-the parallel forty-seven degrees zero minutes north latitude. This origin is given the
157-coordinates: x = 600,000.0000 meters, and y = 00.0000 meters.
158-b.The North Dakota coordinate system of 1983, south zone, is a Lambert conformal conic
159-projection of the North American datum of 1983, having standard parallels at north
160-latitude of forty-six degrees eleven minutes and forty-seven degrees twenty-nine minutes
161-along which parallels the scale shall be exact. The origin of coordinates is at the
162-intersection of the meridian one hundred degrees thirty minutes west of Greenwich and
163-the parallel forty-five degrees forty minutes north latitude. This origin is given the
164-coordinates: x = 600,000.0000 meters, and y = 00.0000 meters.
165-3.For the purposes of more precisely defining the statewide zone of the North Dakota coordinate
166-system of 2022, the definition by the national ocean survey or national geodetic survey is the
167-North Dakota coordinate system of 2022, statewide zone, a Lambert conformal conic
