88 A BILL for an Act to provide for a legislative management study regarding child care
99 infrastructure.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
1111 SECTION 1. LEGISLATIVE MANAGEMENT STUDY - CHILD CARE INFRASTRUCTURE.
1212 1.During the 2025-26 interim, the legislative management shall consider studying the
1313 current child care infrastructure in the state to identify strengths, challenges, and
1414 opportunities for improved public policy, accountability, and investment. The study
1515 must:
1616 a.Review data regarding the availability and affordability of child care in each
1717 county.
1818 b.Examine the various public funds used to support child care facilities directly,
1919 including child care assistance reimbursement levels and penetration rates by
2020 county and facility, other grant programs, and enhanced reimbursements for
2121 employees with specialized training, to recommend options for improvement.
2222 c.Examine the child care licensing and registration policies and procedures to
2323 consider improvements and opportunities to simplify the process.
2424 2.The legislative management shall report its findings and recommendations, together
2525 with any legislation required to implement the recommendations, to the seventieth
2626 legislative assembly.
