10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. LEGISLATIVE MANAGEMENT STUDY - CHILD CARE INFRASTRUCTURE. | |
12 | 12 | 1.During the 2025-26 interim, the legislative management shall consider studying the | |
13 | 13 | current child care infrastructure in the state to identify strengths, challenges, and | |
14 | 14 | opportunities for improved public policy, accountability, and investment. The study | |
15 | 15 | must: | |
16 | 16 | a.Review data regarding the availability and affordability of child care in each | |
17 | 17 | county. | |
18 | 18 | b.Examine the various public funds used to support child care facilities directly, | |
19 | 19 | including child care assistance reimbursement levels and penetration rates by | |
20 | 20 | county and facility, other grant programs, and enhanced reimbursements for | |
21 | 21 | employees with specialized training, to recommend options for improvement. | |
22 | 22 | c.Examine the child care licensing and registration policies and procedures to | |
23 | 23 | consider improvements and opportunities to simplify the process. | |
24 | 24 | 2.The legislative management shall report its findings and recommendations, together | |
25 | 25 | with any legislation required to implement the recommendations, to the seventieth | |
26 | 26 | legislative assembly. | |
