20 | 16 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF NORTH DAKOTA, THE HOUSE OF |

21 | 17 | | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN: |

22 | 18 | | That the following proposed amendments to section 9 of article III and section 16 of |

23 | 19 | | article IV of the Constitution of North Dakota are agreed to and must be submitted to the |

26 | 22 | | SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 9 of article III of the Constitution of North Dakota is |
---|
27 | 23 | | amended and reenacted as follows: |

28 | 24 | | Section 9. A constitutional amendment may be proposed by initiative petition. The |
---|
29 | 25 | | proposed amendment may not embrace or be comprised of more than one subject, as |
---|
30 | 26 | | determined by the secretary of state, and the secretary of state may not approve the initiative |
---|
31 | 27 | | petition for circulation if the proposed amendment comprises more than one subject. If signed |
---|
32 | 28 | | by electors equal in number to four percent of the resident population of the state at the last |
---|
33 | 29 | | federal decennial census, the petition may be submitted to the secretary of state. All other |
