LB323 would amend Nebraska §39-1348 to allow the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) to publish notices of upcoming
contract opportunities with an estimated cost of more than $250,000 on an NDOT officially designated webpage. This could be done in
lieu of advertising for these sealed bids in the newspaper . Also, this bill would modify Nebraska §39-1355 for
NDOT’s authority to
construct a building, by increasing the dollar threshold to not exceed the adjusted limit for capital construction projects specified in
Nebraska §81-1114.
The NDOT has indicated no fiscal impact.
There is no basis to disagree with this estimation.

Explanation of Estimate:
LB323 would add an official webpage designated by the Department of Transportation (NDOT) as a means for
publication of notice to advertise for sealed bids. The bill also provides a revision to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 39-1355
allowing NDOT to construct any building which does not have an estimated cost exceeding the adjusted limit
for capital construction projects specified in section 81- 1114.
No fiscal impact is anticipated to the Department of Transportation.
