LB 383 is the Parental Rights in Social Media Act. 
 
Section 2 provides definitions for the Act. 
 
Under LB 383, a social media company shall not permit a minor to become an account holder unless the minor’s parent provides 
express parental consent.  A social media platform shall use a reasonable 	age verification method to verify the age of individuals 
seeking to become account holders. 
 
The Attorney General is charged with enforcement of the Act. 
 
Section 6 provides an operative date of January 1, 2026.
