The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB7 would clarify that Native American Tribes are not foreign governments and are not
subject to the provisions of the Foreign-Owned Real-Estate National Security Act. The bill
would also update references to federal regulations and add a requirement that the Legislature
be notified of a divestment that is ordered by a court pursuant to the provisions of the
Foreign-Owned Real-Estate National Security Act.
