STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five
AN ACTrequiring moderators to inspect absentee ballot affidavits for full execution including use of a notary, election officer, or any person authorized by law to administer oaths.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Absentee Ballot Envelope; Affidavit Required. RSA 659:50, I(b) is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
(b) The affidavit on the absentee ballot envelope is a fully executed legal affidavit that is witnessed and signed by a notary, election officer, or any person authorized by law to administer oaths, to verify the identity and signature of the voter, and
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AS INTRODUCED
AN ACTrequiring moderators to inspect absentee ballot affidavits for full execution including use of a notary, election officer, or any person authorized by law to administer oaths.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Office of Legislative Budget Assistant is unable to complete a fiscal note for this bill as it is awaiting information from Department of State. The Department was contacted on 1/3/25 for a fiscal note worksheet. When completed, the fiscal note will be forwarded to the House Clerk's Office.
