5555 A Supplement to the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, P.L.2021, c.133. Be It Enacted by the Senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey: 1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.2021, c.133, the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, there is appropriated from the General Fund the following amount for the purpose specified: 66 DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY 10 Public Safety and Criminal Justice 19 Central Planning, Direction and Management 1000 Office of the Attorney General GRANTS-IN-AID 099-1000 Office of the Attorney General...................... $10,000,000 Total Grants-in-Aid: Appropriation, Law Enforcement ........................................... $10,000,000 Grants-in-Aid: 06 Community-Based Violence Intervention $10,000,000 2. This act shall take effect immediately. STATEMENT This bill appropriates $10 million to the Office of the Attorney General in the Department of Law and Public Safety to fund community-based violence intervention initiatives. In FY 2022, the State appropriated $10 million to fund Community-Based Violence Intervention (CBVI) Programs to reduce gun violence and help crime victims. This $10 million supplemental appropriation will continue the State's support of these initiatives.
