37	37	RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE EXPENDITURES; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR
38	38	NECESSARY EXPENSES OF THE THIRD SPECIAL SESSION OF THE FIFTY-
39	39	FIFTH LEGISLATURE AND FOR STATE CAPITOL BUILDING SYSTEM
40	40	UPGRADES AND RENOVATIONS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
41	41	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
42	42	SECTION 1. SPECIAL SESSION--APPROPRIATION.--
43	43	A. The following amounts are appropriated from the
44	44	legislative cash balances for expenditure in fiscal year 2022
45	45	for the following expenses of the third special session of the
46	46	fifty-fifth legislature:
47	47	(1) for the expense of the house of
48	48	representatives, fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) to be
49	49	disbursed on vouchers signed by the speaker and the chief clerk
50	50	of the house of representatives;

78	78	(2) for the expense of the senate, seventy-two
79	79	thousand dollars ($72,000) to be disbursed on vouchers signed
80	80	by the chair of the committees' committee and the chief clerk
81	81	of the senate; and
82	82	(3) for the expense of the legislative council
83	83	service, sixteen thousand seven hundred dollars ($16,700) to be
84	84	disbursed on vouchers signed by the director of the legislative
85	85	council service or the director's authorized representative.
86	86	B. Following adjournment of the third special
87	87	session of the fifty-fifth legislature, expenditures authorized
88	88	in this section shall be disbursed on vouchers signed by the
89	89	director of the legislative council service or the director's
90	90	authorized representative.
91	91	SECTION 2. STATE CAPITOL BUILDING SYSTEM UPGRADES AND
92	92	RENOVATIONS--APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000)
93	93	is appropriated to the legislature from the state capitol
94	94	maintenance fund and two million dollars ($2,000,000) is
95	95	appropriated to the legislature from the legislative cash
96	96	balances for expenditure in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 for
97	97	state capitol building system upgrades and renovations. Any
98	98	unexpended or unencumbered balances remaining at the end of
99	99	fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the originating funds.
100	100	SECTION 3. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
101	101	peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
