50	50	RELATING TO CRIME; PROVIDING THAT EACH ANIMAL STOLEN BY A
51	51	PERSON CONSTITUTES A SEPARATE OFFENSE OF LIVESTOCK LARCENY.
52	52	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
53	53	SECTION 1. Section 30-16-1 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1963,
54	54	Chapter 303, Section 16-1, as amended) is amended to read:
55	55	"30-16-1. LARCENY.--
56	56	A. Larceny consists of the stealing of anything of
57	57	value that belongs to another.
58	58	B. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the
59	59	property stolen is two hundred fifty dollars ($250) or less is
60	60	guilty of a petty misdemeanor.
61	61	C. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the
62	62	property stolen is over two hundred fifty dollars ($250) but

91	91	misdemeanor.
92	92	D. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the
93	93	property stolen is over five hundred dollars ($500) but not
94	94	more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) is guilty
95	95	of a fourth degree felony.
96	96	E. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the
97	97	property stolen is over two thousand five hundred dollars
98	98	($2,500) but not more than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is
99	99	guilty of a third degree felony.
100	100	F. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the
101	101	property stolen is over twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is
102	102	guilty of a second degree felony.
103	103	G. Whoever commits larceny when the property of
104	104	value stolen is livestock is guilty of a third degree felony
105	105	regardless of its value; provided that the theft of multiple
106	106	livestock shall constitute a separate offense for each
107	107	individual animal stolen .
108	108	H. Whoever commits larceny when the property of
109	109	value stolen is a firearm is guilty of a fourth degree felony
110	110	when its value is less than two thousand five hundred dollars
111	111	($2,500)."
