29	34		RELATING TO PUBLIC HOLIDAYS; DECLARING AUGUST AS "NEW MEXICO
30	35		RED AND GREEN CHILE MONTH".
31	36		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
32	37		SECTION 1. A new section of Chapter 12, Article 5 NMSA
33	38		1978 is enacted to read:
34		-	"NEW MEXICO RED AND GREEN CHILE MONTH.--August of each
35		-	year shall be set apart and known as "Red and Green Chile
36		-	Month" in recognition of the impact chile has in New Mexico.
37		-	Chile represents the blending of cultures and traditions that
38		-	have shaped New Mexico over centuries. The rise from its
39		-	indigenous roots through its adoption by the Spanish settlers
40		-	to the chile's current status as a culinary superstar in New
41		-	Mexico symbolizes the status of New Mexico's unique identity.
42		-	Furthermore, chile is a vital economic driver, supporting
43		-	thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to the
44		-	agricultural economy of New Mexico."
