4949 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO ASSESS THE
5050 POTENTIAL ACQUISITION BY THE STATE OF THE STAR AXIS SCULPTURAL
5151 OBSERVATORY.
5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
5353 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
5454 A. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is
5555 appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of
5656 New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal years
5757 2025 through 2027 to conduct a feasibility study to assess the
5858 potential acquisition by the state of Star Axis, a privately
5959 owned sculptural observatory located in San Miguel county,
6060 including:
6161 (1) assessing the cost of legally necessary
6262 upgrades required for public access;

9898 B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
9999 at the end of fiscal year 2027 shall revert to the general
