| 51 | 51 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO: | |
| 52 | 52 | SECTION 1. A new section of the Uniform Owner-Resident | |
| 53 | 53 | Relations Act is enacted to read: | |
| 54 | 54 | "[NEW MATERIAL] EXPUNGEMENT OF EVICTION RECORDS-- | |
| 55 | 55 | PROCEDURE.-- | |
| 56 | 56 | A. All public records held by a court or an agency | |
| 57 | 57 | of the state or a local jurisdiction that relate to a person's | |
| 58 | 58 | eviction under the Uniform Owner-Resident Relations Act shall | |
| 59 | 59 | be automatically expunged five years after the date of the | |
| 60 | 60 | person's eviction. Automatic expungement under this section | |
| 61 | 61 | applies to public records regarding the eviction and requires | |
