2938 PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 5, 2025 "FFA DAY" IN THE HOUSE OF
3039 REPRESENTATIVES.
31-WHEREAS, FFA, formerly future farmers of America, has
32-been a premier youth leadership organization in New Mexico
33-for more than eighty years; and
40+WHEREAS, FFA, formerly future farmers of America, has been
41+a premier youth leadership organization in New Mexico for more
42+than eighty years; and
3443 WHEREAS, started by thirty-three Virginia farm boys in
3544 1928, the national FFA organization now has more than one
36-million members in all fifty states, Puerto Rico and the
37-Virgin Islands; and
38-WHEREAS, the FFA mission centers on three goals:
39-premier leadership, personal growth and career success
40-through agriculture education; and
41-WHEREAS, the FFA is an intra-curricular organization
42-that accomplishes its mission by focusing on its three-circle
43-model of FFA, classroom and supervised agriculture
44-experiences; and
45-WHEREAS, FFA sponsors chapters in rural and urban areas
46-throughout the state; and
47-WHEREAS, today, the New Mexico FFA association has more
48-than five thousand two hundred youths between twelve and
49-twenty-one years of age participating in FFA youth
50-development programs in ninety-three chapters statewide; and
51-WHEREAS, FFA youth development programs are diverse and HM 14

89-teaches vital skills that will be useful in any career; and

9098 WHEREAS, FFA participants report having more confidence
91-and positive self-identity, greater control in their lives
92-and a better ability to make decisions independently; and
93-WHEREAS, FFA participants also report that they set
94-goals and take responsibility for their actions, they take
95-pride in many things and their lives have purpose and
96-meaning; and
97-WHEREAS, beginning on February 15, 2025, FFA members
98-across the country will celebrate national FFA week, and in
99-New Mexico, members across the state will celebrate and
100-highlight their time in FFA; and
101-WHEREAS, the accomplished young men and women of FFA are
