38+IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
3139 WHEREAS, thousands of law enforcement officers are
3240 employed across New Mexico; and
3341 WHEREAS, law enforcement officers serve municipalities,
3442 counties, universities, tribes and the state; and
3543 WHEREAS, the New Mexico state police provides protection
3644 for the legislature while it is in session; and
3745 WHEREAS, law enforcement officers face dangerous and
3846 difficult situations to protect their communities; and
39-WHEREAS, law enforcement officers may experience
40-physical and mental health issues during the course of their
41-service; and
42-WHEREAS, law enforcement agencies are lacking in
43-resources to adequately perform many job duties; and
44-WHEREAS, in recent years, communities statewide have
45-been experiencing shortages in law enforcement officers;
46-NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
47-REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 10,
48-2025 be declared "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" in the
49-house of representatives; and
50-BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
51-transmitted to the chief of the New Mexico state police, the HM 19
