29	37		DECLARING FEBRUARY 20, 2025 "EXCELLENCE IN RIO RANCHO DAY" IN
30	38		THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
31	39		WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho began as a retirement
32	40		community called Rio Rancho estates in the early 1960s; and
33	41		WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho became an incorporated
34	42		municipality in 1981; and
35	43		WHEREAS, Rio Rancho is the third-largest city in New
36	44		Mexico, now with a population of more than one hundred ten
37	45		thousand residents; and
38	46		WHEREAS, Rio Rancho is the fastest-growing city in New
39	47		Mexico; and
40	48		WHEREAS, Rio Rancho has experienced significant economic
41	49		growth, with median household incomes increasing from fifty-
42	50		four thousand dollars ($54,000) in 2020 to more than eighty-
43		-	five thousand dollars ($85,000) in 2024; and
44		-	WHEREAS, Rio Rancho is nationally recognized as one of
45		-	the safest cities in New Mexico and among the safest in the
46		-	southwest, based on crime rates and community surveys; and
47		-	WHEREAS, Rio Rancho boasts a top-rated public school
48		-	district, the Rio Rancho public school district, which is
49		-	celebrating thirty years of quality education for the
50		-	community in 2025; and
51		-	WHEREAS, Rio Rancho has been recognized in several HM 23

137	148		REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 20,
138		-	2025 be declared "Excellence in Rio Rancho Day" in the house
139		-	of representatives; and
	149	+	2025 be declared "Excellence in Rio Rancho Day" in the house of
	150	+	representatives; and
140	151		BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
141	152		transmitted to the mayor of Rio Rancho, members of the Rio
142	153		Rancho city council, the Rio Rancho city manager and the
143	154		president and chief executive officer of the Rio Rancho
144	155		regional chamber of commerce.
