3441 WHEREAS, the New Mexico home builders association is an
3542 important member-driven trade association that was chartered
3643 with the national association of home builders in 1959 to
3744 improve working and operating conditions in the construction
3845 industry in order to provide the residents of New Mexico with
3946 safe, quality housing and commercial buildings; and
4047 WHEREAS, the mission of the New Mexico home builders
4148 association is accomplished in part by serving as a proactive
4249 participant and being the voice of its members in the
4350 legislative and regulatory processes; and
44-WHEREAS, the New Mexico home builders association
45-provides industry-leading information, proactive advocacy,
46-education and resources to its members and the public,
47-fostering a positive image of both the association and the
48-construction industry. Committed to improving industry
49-standards, the association works to improve the construction
50-environment, ensuring New Mexico residents have access to

135144 understands the need for affordability in the New Mexico
136145 housing market and has encouraged the consideration of
137146 affordability as a factor in the adoption of the state's
138147 building and energy codes, in employing innovative
139-infrastructure financing paths and in crafting the
140-Development Fees Act;
