29	37		PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 6, 2025 "GALLUP/MCKINLEY COUNTY DAY" IN
30	38		THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
31	39		WHEREAS, the city of Gallup and McKinley county are the
32	40		northwestern gateway to New Mexico; and
33	41		WHEREAS, the city of Gallup and McKinley county reflect
34	42		the rich cultural, recreational and economic diversity of New
35	43		Mexico; and
36		-	WHEREAS, McKinley county has the greatest number of
37		-	~~Native~~ American residents of any New Mexico county, is the
38		-	~~home of~~ members of the Navajo Nation and the Pueblo of Zuni
39		-	~~and is the~~ site of one of the largest annual gatherings of
40		-	~~Native~~ Americans, the intertribal Indian ceremonial; and
	44	+	WHEREAS, McKinley county has the greatest number of Native
	45	+	American residents of any New Mexico county, is the home of
	46	+	members of the Navajo Nation and the Pueblo of Zuni and is the

42	50		annual intertribal Indian ceremonial; and
43		-	WHEREAS, McKinley county incorporates the continental
44		-	divide, which separates the watersheds of the Pacific and
45		-	Atlantic oceans; and
46		-	WHEREAS, the city of Gallup has a historic downtown and
47		-	is recognized as both a New Mexico mainstreet and an arts and
48		-	cultural district; and
49		-	WHEREAS, in 2011, the legislature declared the city of
50		-	Gallup to be the adventure capital of New Mexico; and
51		-	WHEREAS, McKinley county boasts world-renowned adventure HM 5

84	93		since the nineteenth century, has been recognized by the BNSF
85	94		railway as a heritage community for its importance along its

87	96		WHEREAS, McKinley county is home to Gallup energy
88	97		logistics park, one of only a handful of BNSF-certified sites
89	98		for economic development located in an internal-revenue-
90	99		service-designated opportunity zone;
91	100		NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
92	101		REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 6,
93		-	2025 be designated "Gallup/McKinley County Day" in the house
94		-	of representatives to honor and showcase the many facets of
95		-	the city of Gallup and McKinley county; and
