50	50	MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT TO

53	53	DO NOT HAVE VIABLE RESPONSIBLE PARTIES TO PAY FOR AND CONDUCT
54	54	CLEANUP ACTIONS.
55	55	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
56	56	SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty million dollars
57	57	($50,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
58	58	department of environment for expenditure in fiscal years 2026
59	59	through 2028 to assess and clean up abandoned or neglected
60	60	contaminated sites, including abandoned uranium mining sites,
61	61	across the state that do not have viable responsible parties to
62	62	fund and conduct cleanup actions. Any unexpended or
63	63	unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028
