82 | 82 | | 1, 2015 shall complete the probationary period under which they |

84 | 84 | | B. The salaries of all members of the New Mexico |

85 | 85 | | state police, probationary and permanent, and that of the chief |
---|
86 | 86 | | shall be fixed by the secretary. The secretary shall annually |
---|
87 | 87 | | review the salaries of the New Mexico state police and other |
---|
88 | 88 | | law enforcement agencies in the state and shall adjust the |
---|
89 | 89 | | salaries of the New Mexico state police, if necessary, to |
---|
90 | 90 | | ensure that members of the New Mexico state police are the |
---|
91 | 91 | | highest-paid law enforcement officers in the state. " |
---|
92 | 92 | | SECTION 2. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars |
---|
93 | 93 | | ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the |
---|
94 | 94 | | department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 |
---|
95 | 95 | | to study New Mexico state police salaries. Any unexpended or |
---|
96 | 96 | | unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 |
---|
97 | 97 | | shall revert to the general fund. |
