3333 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO
3434 PROVIDE VISION AND HEARING SCREENING FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH
3535 FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS.
3636 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
3737 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars
3838 ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
3939 public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2026
4040 to provide vision and hearing screening for kindergarten
4141 through fourth grade students. Any unexpended or unencumbered
4242 balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert
4343 to the general fund.
