49	49	RELATING TO VETERINARY MEDICINE; ADDING AN EXEMPTION FOR EQUINE

51	51	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
52	52	SECTION 1. Section 61-14-14 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1967,
53	53	Chapter 62, Section 10, as amended) is amended to read:
54	54	"61-14-14. EXEMPTIONS.--Provisions of the Veterinary
55	55	Practice Act do not apply to:
56	56	A. employees of federal or state governments
57	57	performing official duties;
58	58	B. regular students in a veterinary school
59	59	performing duties or actions assigned by an instructor or
60	60	working under direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian
61	61	during a school vacation period;
62	62	C. reciprocal aid of neighbors in performing

91	91	D. a veterinarian licensed in a foreign
92	92	jurisdiction consulting with a licensed veterinarian;
93	93	E. a merchant or manufacturer selling at the
94	94	merchant's or manufacturer's regular place of business any
95	95	medicine, feed, appliance or other product used in the
96	96	prevention or treatment of animal disease;
97	97	F. the owner of an animal and the owner's
98	98	consignees and their employees while performing routine
99	99	accepted livestock management practices in the care of animals
100	100	belonging to the owner;
101	101	G. a member of the faculty of a veterinary school
102	102	performing the member's regular functions or a person lecturing
103	103	or giving instruction or demonstration at a veterinary school
104	104	or in connection with a continuing education course or seminar
105	105	for licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians or persons
106	106	holding or training for valid permits for artificial
107	107	insemination or diagnosing pregnancy;
108	108	H. a person selling or applying any pesticide,
109	109	insecticide or herbicide; [or ]
110	110	I. a person engaging in bona fide scientific
111	111	research that reasonably requires experimentation involving
112	112	animals; or
113	113	J. a person who provides equine dental maintenance,
114	114	if certified to perform the maintenance by the international
