4949 RELATING TO VETERINARY MEDICINE; ADDING AN EXEMPTION FOR EQUINE

5151 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
5252 SECTION 1. Section 61-14-14 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1967,
5353 Chapter 62, Section 10, as amended) is amended to read:
5454 "61-14-14. EXEMPTIONS.--Provisions of the Veterinary
5555 Practice Act do not apply to:
5656 A. employees of federal or state governments
5757 performing official duties;
5858 B. regular students in a veterinary school
5959 performing duties or actions assigned by an instructor or
6060 working under direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian
6161 during a school vacation period;
6262 C. reciprocal aid of neighbors in performing

110110 I. a person engaging in bona fide scientific
111111 research that reasonably requires experimentation involving
112112 animals; or
113113 J. a person who provides equine dental maintenance,
114114 if certified to perform the maintenance by the international
