49	49	MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO
50	50	CREATE A PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN AND AN IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
51	51	FOR MEMBERS OF INDIAN NATIONS, TRIBES AND PUEBLOS.
52	52	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
53	53	SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars
54	54	($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
55	55	department of justice for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 to
56	56	facilitate the creation of a public relations campaign to
57	57	apprise New Mexico residents of their rights if they are in
58	58	danger of deportation or harassment by federal immigration
59	59	officers. The campaign shall include the creation of an
60	60	identification system for members of Indian nations, tribes and
61	61	pueblos to provide verification of tribal membership, as well
62	62	as a telephone hotline for verification of citizenship status.
