| 36 | 36 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO: | |
| 37 | 37 | SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars | |
| 38 | 38 | ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the | |
| 39 | 39 | department of transportation for expenditure in fiscal year | |
| 40 | 40 | 2026 to study the feasibility of constructing a high-speed | |
| 41 | 41 | passenger railroad in New Mexico. Any unexpended or | |
| 42 | 42 | unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 | |
| 43 | 43 | shall revert to the general fund. | |
