236 | 236 | | "2-13-7. [NEW MATERIAL ] SUBPOENA POWER.--The legislative |

237 | 237 | | health and human services committee may conduct hearings and |
---|
238 | 238 | | administer oaths. The legislative health and human services |

239 | 239 | | committee may issue a subpoena upon a vote of a majority of the |
---|
240 | 240 | | members of the committee. The subpoena may be enforced through |
---|
241 | 241 | | any district court of the state. Process of the committee |
---|
242 | 242 | | shall be served by any sheriff or any member of the New Mexico |
---|
243 | 243 | | state police and shall be served without cost to the committee |
---|
244 | 244 | | or its subcommittees." |

245 | 245 | | SECTION 6. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars |
---|
246 | 246 | | ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the |
---|
247 | 247 | | legislative council service for expenditure in fiscal years |
---|
248 | 248 | | 2025 and 2026 to fund staffing for and the activities of the |
---|
249 | 249 | | legislative health and human services committee pursuant to |
---|
250 | 250 | | this act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at |
---|
251 | 251 | | the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert to the general fund. |
