5757 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
5858 SECTION 1. Section 61-24B-8 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1985,
5959 Chapter 151, Section 8, as amended) is amended to read:
6060 "61-24B-8. QUALIFICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION.--
6161 A. A person desiring to become registered as a

9191 all required application fees and certify and furnish evidence
9292 to the board that the applicant:
9393 [A.] (1) has graduated from an accredited
9494 program in landscape architecture at a school, college or
9595 university and has a minimum of two years of practical
9696 experience acceptable to the board; [at least one year of which
9797 shall be under the supervision of a landscape architect;
9898 B.] (2) has graduated from a nonaccredited
9999 program of landscape architecture at a school, college or
100100 university offering a minimum four-year bachelor's degree
101101 curriculum or a minimum two-year master's degree curriculum and
102102 has a minimum of four years of practical experience acceptable
103103 to the board; [at least one year of which shall be under the
104104 supervision of a landscape architect;
105105 C.] (3) has graduated from a program in a
106106 field related to landscape architecture at a school, college or
107107 university offering a minimum four-year bachelor's degree
108108 curriculum or a minimum two-year master's degree curriculum and
109109 has a minimum of [five ] six years of practical experience
110110 acceptable to the board [at least one year of which shall be
111111 under the supervision of a landscape architect ]; or
112112 [D.] (4) has a minimum of [ten ] eight years of
113113 practical experience in landscape architectural work that is
114114 acceptable to the board [at least one year of which shall be

144144 [(1)] (a) each satisfactorily completed
145145 year of study in an accredited program of landscape
146146 architecture may be accepted in lieu of one year of practical
147147 experience required under this [subsection ] paragraph; or
148148 [(2)] (b) a baccalaureate degree from a
149149 school, college or university may be accepted in lieu of two
150150 years of practical experience required under this [subsection ]
151151 paragraph.
152152 B. The board may increase the required number of
153153 years of experience required under this section in order to
154154 bring New Mexico into accord with national model legislation or
155155 accreditation standards by rule ."
