52	52	THE BOARD OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS TO INCREASE THE REQUIRED
53	53	NUMBER OF YEARS OF EXPERIENCE FOR A LICENSE APPLICANT WITH OR
54	54	WITHOUT A DEGREE TO BRING NEW MEXICO'S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS IN
55	55	ACCORD WITH NATIONAL MODEL LEGISLATION OR ACCREDITATION
56	56	STANDARDS BY RULE.
57	57	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
58	58	SECTION 1. Section 61-24B-8 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1985,
59	59	Chapter 151, Section 8, as amended) is amended to read:
60	60	"61-24B-8. QUALIFICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION.--
61	61	A. A person desiring to become registered as a
62	62	landscape architect shall make application to the board on a

91	91	all required application fees and certify and furnish evidence
92	92	to the board that the applicant:
93	93	[A.] (1) has graduated from an accredited
94	94	program in landscape architecture at a school, college or
95	95	university and has a minimum of two years of practical
96	96	experience acceptable to the board; [at least one year of which
97	97	shall be under the supervision of a landscape architect;
98	98	B.] (2) has graduated from a nonaccredited
99	99	program of landscape architecture at a school, college or
100	100	university offering a minimum four-year bachelor's degree
101	101	curriculum or a minimum two-year master's degree curriculum and
102	102	has a minimum of four years of practical experience acceptable
103	103	to the board; [at least one year of which shall be under the
104	104	supervision of a landscape architect;
105	105	C.] (3) has graduated from a program in a
106	106	field related to landscape architecture at a school, college or
107	107	university offering a minimum four-year bachelor's degree
108	108	curriculum or a minimum two-year master's degree curriculum and
109	109	has a minimum of [five ] six years of practical experience
110	110	acceptable to the board [at least one year of which shall be
111	111	under the supervision of a landscape architect ]; or
112	112	[D.] (4) has a minimum of [ten ] eight years of
113	113	practical experience in landscape architectural work that is
114	114	acceptable to the board [at least one year of which shall be

144	144	[(1)] (a) each satisfactorily completed
145	145	year of study in an accredited program of landscape
146	146	architecture may be accepted in lieu of one year of practical
147	147	experience required under this [subsection ] paragraph; or
148	148	[(2)] (b) a baccalaureate degree from a
149	149	school, college or university may be accepted in lieu of two
150	150	years of practical experience required under this [subsection ]
151	151	paragraph.
152	152	B. The board may increase the required number of
153	153	years of experience required under this section in order to
154	154	bring New Mexico into accord with national model legislation or
155	155	accreditation standards by rule ."
