39	39	NEW MEXICO BY CHANGING THE LENGTH OF LEGISLATIVE SESSIONS IN
40	40	EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS TO SIXTY DAYS, REMOVING THE RESTRICTIONS ON
41	41	BILLS THAT MAY BE CONSIDERED IN EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS AND
42	42	PROVIDING FOR CONSIDERATION OF VETO OVERRIDES FOR BILLS OF A
43	43	REGULAR, A SPECIAL OR AN EXTRAORDINARY LEGISLATIVE SESSION
44	44	WITHIN THE SAME LEGISLATIVE BIENNIUM.
45	45	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
46	46	SECTION 1. It is proposed to amend Article 4, Section 5
47	47	of the constitution of New Mexico to read:
48	48	"A. Each regular session of the legislature shall
49	49	begin annually at 12:00 noon on the third Tuesday of January.
50	50	Every regular session of the legislature [convening during an
51	51	odd-numbered year] shall remain in session not to exceed sixty

83	83	B. Every regular session of the legislature

86	86	(1) budgets, appropriations and revenue bills;
87	87	(2) bills drawn pursuant to special messages
88	88	of the governor; and
89	89	(3)] may consider for veto override bills of
90	90	[the last previous] a regular, [session vetoed by the governor ]
91	91	a special or an extraordinary session within the same
92	92	legislative biennium."
93	93	SECTION 2. The amendment proposed by this resolution
94	94	shall be submitted to the people for their approval or
95	95	rejection at the next general election or at any special
96	96	election prior to that date that may be called for that
97	97	purpose.
