17 | 17 | | certain circumstances. (NRS 284.305) This bill sets forth an additional |

18 | 18 | | circumstance in which a position in the classified service may be filled without |

19 | 19 | | competition. Specifically, this bill authorizes a position in the classified service to |
---|
20 | 20 | | be filled by a person without competition if the person: (1) meets the minimum |
---|
21 | 21 | | qualifications for the position; and (2) has successfully completed at least 900 hours |

22 | 22 | | of service in an AmeriCorps, Youth Conservation Corps or Job Corps program in |

23 | 23 | | this State not more than 2 years before the person applies for the position and such |

24 | 24 | | service in the AmeriCorps, Youth Conservation Corps or Job Corps program, as |

25 | 25 | | applicable, was directly related to the job duties of the position in the classified |

34 | 34 | | Section 1. Chapter 284 of NRS is hereby amended by adding |
---|
35 | 35 | | thereto a new section to read as follows: |

36 | 36 | | An appointing authority may appoint a person to fill a position |

37 | 37 | | in the classified service without competition if the person: |

38 | 38 | | 1. Meets the minimum qualifications for the position; and |

---|

---|
62 | 62 | | position with or without reasonable accommodation; |

63 | 63 | | (b) The demotion of a current employee; |
---|
64 | 64 | | (c) The reemployment of a current or former employee who was |
---|
65 | 65 | | or will be adversely affected by layoff, military service, |
---|
66 | 66 | | reclassification or a permanent partial disability arising out of and in |

67 | 67 | | the course of the employment of the current or former employee; or |
