88 SENATE RESOLUTION—Designating certain members of the
99 Senate as regular and alternate members of the Legislative
1010 Commission for the 2023-2025 biennium.
1111 RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, That,
1212 pursuant to the provisions of NRS 218E.150 and the Joint Standing
1313 Rules of the Legislature, Senators Nicole Cannizzaro, Dallas Harris,
1414 Skip Daly, Ira Hansen, Lisa Krasner and Jeff Stone are designated
1515 as the regular Senate members of the Legislative Commission; and
1616 be it further
1717 RESOLVED, That Senators Marilyn Dondero Loop and Fabian
1818 Donate are designated as the first and second alternate members,
1919 respectively, for Senator Nicole Cannizzaro; Senators Melanie
2020 Scheible and Rochelle Nguyen are designated as the first and second
2121 alternate members, respectively, for Senator Dallas Harris; Senators
2222 Roberta Lange and James Ohrenschall are designated as the first and
2323 second alternate members, respectively, for Senator Skip Daly;
2424 Senators Scott Hammond and Robin L. Titus are designated as the
2525 first and second alternate members, respectively, for Senator Ira
2626 Hansen; Senators Scott Hammond and Pete Goicoechea are
2727 designated as the first and second alternate members, respectively,
2828 for Senator Lisa Krasner; and Senators Carrie Ann Buck and Heidi
2929 Seevers Gansert are designated as the first and second alternate
3030 members, respectively, for Senator Jeff Stone; and be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That the procedure for requesting an alternate
3232 member to replace a regular member during his or her absence at a
3333 meeting must be as follows:
3434 1. The Secretary of the Legislative Commission shall establish
3535 a record of service of alternate members at meetings of the
3636 Legislative Commission and shall maintain a list of the alternate
3737 members for each individual Senator or group of Senators. Each list
3838 must contain a numerical designation in ascending order for each
3939 alternate member on the list. The initial sequence in which the
4040 alternate members must be listed must correspond to their
4141 designation as alternates in this resolution.
4242 2. If a regular member of the Legislative Commission is unable
4343 to attend a scheduled meeting of the Legislative Commission and
4444 notifies the Secretary of the Legislative Commission, the Secretary
4545 shall request the alternate member with the lowest numerical
4646 designation on the appropriate list to replace the regular member at

5151 the meeting. If the alternate member does not agree to serve, the
5252 Secretary shall make the same request of the alternate member with
5353 the next higher numerical designation on the list, and so on through
5454 the list until an alternate member agrees to replace the regular
5555 member.
5656 3. An alternate member who agrees to replace a regular
5757 member at a meeting of the Legislative Commission loses the
5858 numerical designation he or she had on the appropriate list at
5959 the time he or she was requested to serve. The Secretary of the
6060 Legislative Commission shall, when the alternate member agrees to
6161 replace the regular member, assign to that alternate member the
6262 highest numerical designation on the appropriate list. At the same
6363 time, the Secretary shall also reduce by one the numerical
6464 designation on the appropriate list to those alternate members who
6565 have higher numerical designations on the appropriate list than the
6666 alternate member who has agreed to serve.
6767 4. An alternate member who is requested to replace a regular
6868 member at a meeting of the Legislative Commission, but who does
6969 not agree to replace the regular member, does not lose the numerical
7070 designation he or she had on the appropriate list at the time of the
7171 request.
7272 And be it further
7373 RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon
7474 adoption.
