8	8	SENATE RESOLUTION—Designating certain members of the
9	9	Senate as regular and alternate members of the Legislative
10	10	Commission for the 2023-2025 biennium.
11	11	RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, That,
12	12	pursuant to the provisions of NRS 218E.150 and the Joint Standing
13	13	Rules of the Legislature, Senators Nicole Cannizzaro, Dallas Harris,
14	14	Skip Daly, Ira Hansen, Lisa Krasner and Jeff Stone are designated
15	15	as the regular Senate members of the Legislative Commission; and
16	16	be it further
17	17	RESOLVED, That Senators Marilyn Dondero Loop and Fabian
18	18	Donate are designated as the first and second alternate members,
19	19	respectively, for Senator Nicole Cannizzaro; Senators Melanie
20	20	Scheible and Rochelle Nguyen are designated as the first and second
21	21	alternate members, respectively, for Senator Dallas Harris; Senators
22	22	Roberta Lange and James Ohrenschall are designated as the first and
23	23	second alternate members, respectively, for Senator Skip Daly;
24	24	Senators Scott Hammond and Robin L. Titus are designated as the
25	25	first and second alternate members, respectively, for Senator Ira
26	26	Hansen; Senators Scott Hammond and Pete Goicoechea are
27	27	designated as the first and second alternate members, respectively,
28	28	for Senator Lisa Krasner; and Senators Carrie Ann Buck and Heidi
29	29	Seevers Gansert are designated as the first and second alternate
30	30	members, respectively, for Senator Jeff Stone; and be it further
31	31	RESOLVED, That the procedure for requesting an alternate
32	32	member to replace a regular member during his or her absence at a
33	33	meeting must be as follows:
34	34	1. The Secretary of the Legislative Commission shall establish
35	35	a record of service of alternate members at meetings of the
36	36	Legislative Commission and shall maintain a list of the alternate
37	37	members for each individual Senator or group of Senators. Each list
38	38	must contain a numerical designation in ascending order for each
39	39	alternate member on the list. The initial sequence in which the
40	40	alternate members must be listed must correspond to their
41	41	designation as alternates in this resolution.
42	42	2. If a regular member of the Legislative Commission is unable
43	43	to attend a scheduled meeting of the Legislative Commission and
44	44	notifies the Secretary of the Legislative Commission, the Secretary
45	45	shall request the alternate member with the lowest numerical
46	46	designation on the appropriate list to replace the regular member at

51	51	the meeting. If the alternate member does not agree to serve, the
52	52	Secretary shall make the same request of the alternate member with
53	53	the next higher numerical designation on the list, and so on through
54	54	the list until an alternate member agrees to replace the regular
55	55	member.
56	56	3. An alternate member who agrees to replace a regular
57	57	member at a meeting of the Legislative Commission loses the
58	58	numerical designation he or she had on the appropriate list at
59	59	the time he or she was requested to serve. The Secretary of the
60	60	Legislative Commission shall, when the alternate member agrees to
61	61	replace the regular member, assign to that alternate member the
62	62	highest numerical designation on the appropriate list. At the same
63	63	time, the Secretary shall also reduce by one the numerical
64	64	designation on the appropriate list to those alternate members who
65	65	have higher numerical designations on the appropriate list than the
66	66	alternate member who has agreed to serve.
67	67	4. An alternate member who is requested to replace a regular
68	68	member at a meeting of the Legislative Commission, but who does
69	69	not agree to replace the regular member, does not lose the numerical
70	70	designation he or she had on the appropriate list at the time of the
71	71	request.

73	73	RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon
74	74	adoption.
