AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Health and Human Services for a grant program to expand the biennial survey administered pursuant to the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States Department of Health and Human Services; and providing other matters properly relating thereto. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State 1 General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services for 2 a grant program to expand the biennial survey administered pursuant 3 to the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System developed by the 4 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States 5 Department of Health and Human Services the following sums: 6 For the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 .................................. $220,000 7 For the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 .................................. $220,000 8 2. The Department of Health and Human Services shall 9 develop and implement a grant program to award grants from the 10 – 2 – - *AB331* money appropriated by subsection 1 to institutions within the 1 Nevada System of Higher Education, boards of trustees of school 2 districts or governing bodies of charter schools to expand the 3 biennial survey administered pursuant to the Youth Risk Behavior 4 Surveillance System developed by the Centers for Disease Control 5 and Prevention of the United States Department of Health and 6 Human Services as required by NRS 392.422. 7 3. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for 8 either fiscal year. Any remaining balance of those sums must not be 9 committed for expenditure after June 30, 2027, by the entity to 10 which the appropriation is made or any entity to which money from 11 the appropriation is granted or otherwise transferred in any manner, 12 and any portion of the appropriated money remaining must not be 13 spent for any purpose after September 17, 2027, by either the entity 14 to which the money was appropriated or the entity to which the 15 money was subsequently granted or transferred, and must be 16 reverted to the State General Fund on or before September 17, 2027. 17 Sec. 2.
