20	20	ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION—Expressing
21	21	gratitude to the National Conference of State Legislatures for
22	22	50 years of service.
23	23	WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures was
24	24	founded in 1975 and has evolved over the last 50 years to become
25	25	the premier organization solely dedicated to serving the legislators
26	26	and legislative staff of the 50 states, commonwealths and territories
27	27	of the United States and the District of Columbia; and
28	28	WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures was
29	29	created from the merger of three organizations that served or
30	30	represented the interest of legislators and legislative staff and that
31	31	shared the belief that legislative service is one of democracy’s
32	32	worthiest pursuits; and
33	33	WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures is a
34	34	bipartisan organization that seeks to advance the effectiveness,
35	35	independence and integrity of state legislatures, foster interstate
36	36	communication and cooperation and ensure states have a strong,
37	37	cohesive voice in the federal governmental system; and
38	38	WHEREAS, The state legislatures of this nation are laboratories
39	39	of democracy and have continually demonstrated their unique
40	40	ability to adeptly tackle emergent challenges by bringing together
41	41	people from different backgrounds and communities to find
42	42	common ground; and
43	43	WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures
44	44	facilitates the exchange of ideas, provides critical research and
45	45	information, encourages a rigorous review of the complex issues
46	46	confronting our communities, states and nation and strives to

53	53	WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures
54	54	celebrated its 50th anniversary on January 1, 2025; now, therefore,
55	55	be it
56	56	RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE
57	57	SENATE CONCURRING, That the members of the 83rd Session of the
58	58	Nevada Legislature recognize and commend the National
59	59	Conference of State Legislatures for its exceptional leadership and
60	60	commitment to the legislative institution and specifically its service
61	61	to the Nevada Legislature as it celebrates its 50th anniversary; and
62	62	be it further
63	63	RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly prepare and
64	64	transmit a copy of this resolution to the Chief Executive Officer of
65	65	the National Conference of State Legislatures; and be it further
66	66	RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon
67	67	adoption.
