2020 ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION—Expressing
2121 gratitude to the National Conference of State Legislatures for
2222 50 years of service.
2323 WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures was
2424 founded in 1975 and has evolved over the last 50 years to become
2525 the premier organization solely dedicated to serving the legislators
2626 and legislative staff of the 50 states, commonwealths and territories
2727 of the United States and the District of Columbia; and
2828 WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures was
2929 created from the merger of three organizations that served or
3030 represented the interest of legislators and legislative staff and that
3131 shared the belief that legislative service is one of democracy’s
3232 worthiest pursuits; and
3333 WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures is a
3434 bipartisan organization that seeks to advance the effectiveness,
3535 independence and integrity of state legislatures, foster interstate
3636 communication and cooperation and ensure states have a strong,
3737 cohesive voice in the federal governmental system; and
3838 WHEREAS, The state legislatures of this nation are laboratories
3939 of democracy and have continually demonstrated their unique
4040 ability to adeptly tackle emergent challenges by bringing together
4141 people from different backgrounds and communities to find
4242 common ground; and
4343 WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures
4444 facilitates the exchange of ideas, provides critical research and
4545 information, encourages a rigorous review of the complex issues
4646 confronting our communities, states and nation and strives to

5151 strengthen the bond between state legislatures in the United States

5353 WHEREAS, The National Conference of State Legislatures
5454 celebrated its 50th anniversary on January 1, 2025; now, therefore,

5656 RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE
5757 SENATE CONCURRING, That the members of the 83rd Session of the
5858 Nevada Legislature recognize and commend the National
5959 Conference of State Legislatures for its exceptional leadership and
6060 commitment to the legislative institution and specifically its service
6161 to the Nevada Legislature as it celebrates its 50th anniversary; and
6262 be it further
6363 RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly prepare and
6464 transmit a copy of this resolution to the Chief Executive Officer of
6565 the National Conference of State Legislatures; and be it further
6666 RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon
6767 adoption.
