AN ACT relating to periods of observance; designating the month 
of September of each year as “Perimenopause Awareness 
Month” in this State; designating the month of October of 
each year as “Menopause Awareness Month” in this 
State; and providing other matters properly relating 
thereto. 
Legislative Counsel’s Digest: 
 Under existing law, certain days, weeks and months of observance are 1 
recognized in this State. (NRS 236.018-236.095) Sections 2 and 3 of this bill, 2 
respectively, designate: (1) the month of September of each year as 3 
“Perimenopause Awareness Month”; and (2) the month of October of each year as 4 
“Menopause Awareness Month” in the State of Nevada. Additionally, sections 2 5 
and 3 require the Governor to issue annually a proclamation encouraging the 6 
observance of these months. 7 
 
 
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN 
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 
 
 Section 1.  Chapter 236 of NRS is hereby amended by adding 1 
thereto the provisions set forth as sections 2 and 3 of this act. 2 
 Sec. 2.  1. The month of September of each year is 3 
designated as “Perimenopause Awareness Month” in this State. 4 
 2. The Governor shall issue annually a proclamation 5 
encouraging the observance of Perimenopause Awareness Month. 6 
The proclamation must, without limitation, call upon news media, 7

health care providers, educators, nonprofit groups and 1 
foundations, appropriate governmental officers and other public 2 
and private entities to: 3 
 (a) Bring to the attention of the residents of this State factual 4 
information and educational programs regarding perimenopause; 5 
and 6 
 (b) Promote access to quality health care during 7 
perimenopause to support the optimal health and well-being of 8 
Nevadans. 9 
 Sec. 3.  1. The month of October of each year is designated 10 
as “Menopause Awareness Month” in this State. 11 
 2. The Governor shall issue annually a proclamation 12 
encouraging the observance of Menopause Awareness Month. 13 
The proclamation must, without limitation, call upon news media, 14 
health care providers, educators, nonprofit groups and 15 
foundations, appropriate governmental officers and other public 16 
and private entities to: 17 
 (a) Bring to the attention of the residents of this State factual 18 
information and educational programs regarding menopause; and 19 
 (b) Promote access to quality health care during menopause to 20 
support the optimal health and well-being of Nevadans. 21 
 Sec. 4.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2025. 22
