AN ACT relating to the State Board of Parole Commissioners; requiring the Board to disseminate records of decisions regarding parole under certain circumstances; and providing other matters properly relating thereto. Legislative Counsel’s Digest: Existing law requires the State Board of Parole Commissioners to compile and 1 maintain certain information relating to decisions regarding parole. (NRS 2 213.10887) This bill requires the Board to disseminate records of decisions 3 regarding parole to any person who requests such a record of a named prisoner. 4 THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. NRS 213.10887 is hereby amended to read as 1 follows: 2 213.10887 1. The Board shall compile and maintain detailed 3 information concerning all decisions regarding parole. The 4 information must include, but is not limited to: 5 (a) The Board’s reasons for each decision to grant, deny, revoke 6 or continue parole. 7 (b) The number of decisions made by the Board granting parole, 8 denying parole, revoking parole and continuing parole. 9 2. The Board shall: 10 – 2 – - *SB30* (a) Organize and tabulate the information compiled pursuant to 1 this section at regular intervals, which must not exceed 3 months; 2 [and] 3 (b) Publish such information on its Internet website [.] ; and 4 (c) Upon request, disseminate records of decisions regarding 5 parole to any person who requests such a record of a named 6 prisoner, excluding any personal identifying information, after the 7 prisoner and any victims have been notified of the decision. 8 Sec. 2.
